    Hey all--
Just picked up another Conklin GT7 today (Thanks bhendy!!). Looking to get some strings for it.

I have Fodera SS 34-45-65-85-105-130 on my 6-string that I really like.

I have used Dean Markley S2000 before and they were decent but the Foderas are way more to my liking.

I would be willing to get a 6er set and add an F. Looking for suggestions. Seems to be a lot of love on here for Circle K. Open to trying out new brands but would like to start in the ballpark.

    Thanks in advance.

Circle K's will work well with the F.... man if I had a 7 stringer I'd be going F#-C though :D

To go with your Fodera 6 string set, a bood match would be a DR Hi-Beam .025. It has the most similar design to the Fodera string... Round Core Stainless Steel. Dean Markley also has a .025 Super Round Stainless Steel single.

Thanks for the info Jason. Loved my first order with BSO so I just pressed the "submit order" button again.

Great service. Looking forward to some new strings in a couple of days :hyper:.

I paid for all my gear myself. Well, me and MasterCard.
Another vote for Circle K... but I will confess I really liked having a SR2000 .022" F on my Benavente 7.

For me the problem with 7 string sets is finding one with a decent high F that's wound. I hate the feel of plain strings. The only other good set found is from Ken Smith. And you have to ask for a wound F otherwise you'll get a 20p.

The best thing to do really is get 6 string sets and add the F of your choice as a single.

Really many multi string sets aren't a ideal as a four string set with added strings.

That's interesting to know, man. I would think sets would be better.

In some cases... but there are a lot of times I prefer a heavier B string than what comes with the standard 5 string sets, or lighter...

It depends on the brand and string type though...

Remember when putting together "custom sets" to see if there are prepackaged sets that contain the strings you are looking for.

Check your PM for the changes I made for you ;)
