Recommend me eh Bass ?!

    Hello TB Nation!

    I traded my back up bass ( A Fender Jazz) and now I am without one. I am looking to buy used with a max budget of $1100.
    I currently have a stingray and I absolutely love its punchy treble sound :bassist: , before you suggest anything, I should tell you that I don't dig the jazz bass tone as much as I used to (reason as to why I got rid of my back up jazz)


    What can be had for $1100 used ? Pictures and sound clips are encouraged!

    If you like the feel of a Jazz bass neck and body but don't want the tone, have you tried out the Blacktop Jazz? If you like a punchy, even downright aggressive tone, see if you can give one a whirl. It's quite a beastly cannon of a bass, which is surprising given the price (normally $500…$450 during Fender's current summer sale).

    If you like your Stingray you should look at the Sterling by Musicman basses. Essentially Musicman's "Squier" line. They get rave reviews for a budget bass.

    Not to go al Fendery on ya but the Blacktop might be cool but I think the Precision might be even cooler?
