Recommend me some great fusion (or groove orientated) trio's !!!

  1. Looking for some fusion trio's for inspiration. Anyone know of some solid, bass/drum/guitar fusion bands?

    all three of them are incredible musicians.. and a nice bass solo in 'Moscow' aswell.

    check their album out on spotify! its quite allan holdsworthy in places.

    True, there are not any legitimate recordings of that out there but there are some on www.jazzfusion.tv in bootlegs. As a matter of fact, there's tons of inspirational stuff on there.

    +1 Krantz Carlock lefebvre is really quite an interesting one.
    Same goes for howie 61.
    Krantz was great also on Dave Binney's 'Balane'-a fantastic multi faceted album showing up new things each time I listen to it.
    Rudder may also be interesting, a band with keith carlock.

    John Mayer Trio with Pino Palladino on bass...definitely some groove there.

    Yes! Two Drink Minimum (Krantz, Goines, Danzinger) is well worth the bucks, IMO.

    Khan, Jackson, Chambers is on a two-disk called The Suitcase.
