I'm putting together a new board and I would like a few recommendations for modulation. I have my overdrive/distortion/fuzz covered with a Bassdrive, Landmine, and Depth Charge respectively. What I'm looking for ideally is: 1) A standalone flanger - my absolute favorite flanger is a DOD bass flanger but that is staying on my current board. 2) Phaser - I have my eye on the Retro-Sonic Phaser 3) Chorus - I'm not sure if I'm keeping my Choralflange 4) Delay Non-modulation pedals: 5) Envelope filter - I'm looking at the tonefactor or keeping my Emma. 6) If something exists, a pedal that is similar in size (width) to a standard wah but functions like a digitech whammy. Here are the specifics.... I would like all of them to be: 1) True hardwire bypass 2) Ideally I would like the inputs and outputs on the top of the pedal to fit them closer together for board real-estate 3) I would like them in the smallest enclosure possible (think MXR Phase 90 or similar size) I also have my eye on the Eventide Modfactor for the many options it offers but I'm coming to my talkbass experts to get me GAS'ing Boutique lovers......Let's hear 'em! Whaddya got for me?
The Voodoo Lab Analog Chorus is true-bypass, has the jacks on top, and is pretty small. Homebrew Psilosybe Phaser is a the same size as the EHX XO micro pedals and is true-bypass, but that has the jacks on the side. The Subdecay Quasar has the jacks on top, but I think its a little bigger. TC Electronics has the Chorus/Flanger, and also the Classic Phaser, they have the jacks on the top, but I'm not sure its true-bypass.
I have the Psilocybe, great phaser but I'm selling it to a friend. I have been looking at the Quasar for some time now, as well as the Prometheus....dear lord, is there anything that filter can't do? I gotta stop watching those videos on proguitarshop.com
Digitech expression factory has some whammy settings. Here is the manual (caution: large file) to see if it is what you're looking for.
The videos on YouTube.com/tonefactor are better, they have a few bass vids too, done by resident pedal guru TaySte_2000
Damn, I totally forgot about that pedal years ago.....it might be what I need considering the space requirements.
