Discussion in 'Off Topic [BG]' started by AmazingGracePlayer, Jun 19, 2007.

  1. Hello everyone, can you recommend me some good new movies (that are avaliable on DVD)? Thanks! Doesn't matter what type of movie it is, romance, action, comedy, it's all fine.

Duel. It was Spielberg's first movie, I believe it was made for TV. But it's good. You won't find it at Ballbuster (unless your local location has an extensive selection) you might have to check out Suncoast (or some similar incarnation), Amazon, eBay, etc.

  5. Dumb and Dumber. I recently saw the extended version for the first time. Hillarious.

  8. Hi.

    Worlds fastest Indian.

I was amazed, to say the least. By far the best "real" movie I've seen in a long time.

  9. Alvaro Martín Gómez A.

Alvaro Martín Gómez A. TalkBass' resident Bongo + cowbell player

The "Saw" trilogy, A Clockwork Orange, The Exorcist, The Game, Head Above Water, School Of Rock, Requiem For A Dream, The Silence Of The Lambs (and the rest of Hannibal Lecter Movies), Seven, Airplane! and Top Secret!, Boogie Nights, The Fly, The Indiana Jones trilogy, the James Bond franchise (plus the last one, "Casino Royale", not included in the set and one of the best of the series IMO).

From the top of my head.

EDIT: Sorry, just noticed the word "new" in your post. Anyway, hope you find something interesting in my list.
  10. Yeah how was Casino Royale? The teaser made the movie seem very generic...

Takeshi Kitano's remake of Zatoichi. I don't usually like Japanese films but this one was awesome.

Tideland and Pan's Labrynth were the two best ive rented lately.
  19. What I've seen lately:
    - Mrs. Henderson Presents - I always wondered what Bob Hoskins & Judi Dench would be like in the same movie, and it's not disappointing.
    - Dr. Strangelove or (HILTSWALTP)
    - I Walk the Line
    - Grave of the Fireflies (WARNING: DO NOT watch this if you are easily depressed. It is great, but I barely got through it in one piece.)
-Singin' In the Rain (which my 6yo daughter loves, and can quote.)
