All of my pertinent details are posted in my profile, but I’ll post them here so people can easily see it:

I just bought a ‘95 Warwick Thumb 4 NT. I currently play through a little Orange 8” 25w practice amp, & am interested in getting a serious rig as my playing progresses. I’m a decent guitar player, but JUST started playing bass a few weeks ago. My favorite bass player ever is Ben Shepherd, as I think his tone & playing is cool & tasteful. Honorable mentions go to Geezer Butler & Robert DeLeo. I’d like to hear recommendations for a rig given these facts. Price limit $3,000. Thanks!!

You can get a great rig for a lot less than that. How loud do you need to get- Will your amp be supported by the PA? What kind of music?

No. I only started playing a few weeks ago. I’m not gonna use my bass for gigs- I’m a singer in a band setting. This proposed rig is for personal use only. I like hard rock/metal: Guns, Alice, Soundgarden, Sabbath, Tool, Lamb Of God, System of A Down, etc.
