I need some advice on recording bass.
I use cubase 6, (and mainly the plugins that follow with it) I plug the bass (Squier fretlees) direct into a Steinberg CI2+.
The only other plugins i use is Ezmix2 (very little), and superior drummer.

I can get i pretty good bass tone, that has a good place in the mix. Both when i record myself, but also when i record my friends more heavy rock bass.

But my i seen to have a hard time getting a good slap bass mix.
Both with my own squier fretless, and when my friend plays his fretted bass.. Even if theres only drums and bass.
When i play i ofc try to have the input as high as possible, but without any clipping. I find it every hard to get a good volumen, real punch, and most of all the clarity/definition.

Any advice on recording/mixing slap bass?
Any other advice for recording/mixing bass is very welcome to.

    thanks Christoffer :)
