Anyone using recording and/or composing software like Cakewalk on a UNIX or LINUX platform? I know Cakewalk is not available for LINUX but I have heard rumblings of others. Any experiences out there?
It's kinda hard to do audio on Linux/Unix because there are hardly any low latency soundcard drivers. You can try Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ DAP http://www.cee.hw.ac.uk/~richardk/ Protux http://www.nongnu.org/protux/ http://www.linuxresource.com/Audio-Video/index.php
Another you may want to look into is http://ardour.sourceforge.net/ . Things are better in the UNIX/Linux sound arena than they used to be. Not perfect yet, but getting better.
