There it is. It looks so out of place. Look, it's so much bigger than the rest of them, and RED! It doesn't even fit in its crib. I feel sorry for the whole family.

Anyway, it's the best-tracking, best-sounding octaver of all the ones I've played including Boss and EBS. It's da kine.

    nice board!

I'm quite happy with my vintage DOD Octoplus... but the MicroPOG is on my short list if I ever need to replace it.

Someone should make a pedal called the Red Headed Stepchild. Beats B:assmaster. That's...um...what's the word I'm looking for???

I saw a home built overdrive called the red-headed bastard once. It sounded like crap though.

I like 'em. They almost never get out of the house, though. I'm pretty much a bass-> cable-> amp guy. Here's a few I don't have room for on the board. There are a couple more that didn't make the table; Boss Fender FDR-1 and FBM-1.

I bought most of my pedals used, mostly here. You have to be quick, though. I've missed out on a Sadowsky Preamp and a Fodera Model 2006 in recent weeks. Usually by as few six minutes. Still looking.

Thanks for pushing my GAS pedal there Munji ;)

In a bin just to the right of that picture, there are three more Type 85s, two JDIs and two J48s. I just love DIs.

Still looks more uniform than most store displays I've seen.

"I'm gonna slap you around like a red-headed stepchild," is also likely my favourite line uttered from a television program. Possibly #2 behind the greatest line in All Things Video: "Nihilists? **** me. I mean, say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos."

  18. I resent that bigotry against the red-headed members of this country.

    We're going extinct, you know.

That board is what stores use to display EBS pedals. I haven't had good luck with the tracking on the OctaBass, so it's not in its proper spot. I think I'll wait until the new one hits the street ... it supposedly has better tracking. Just the fact that EBS says it tracks better tells me they knew the previous version wasn't as good as it should have been.

EBS has upgraded all their pedals, which now have true bypass. Here's what they say about the Octabass.

    "New edition with improved tracking!
The 2008 edition uses true bypass techniques and triggers better and faster than ever! The pedal also recognizes two or three-note chords and trigger the lowest note. Control the level of the original tone and mix in the octave effect. Choose between High, Mid or Low Range.
    "
