i found the perfect bass that suits all of my needs: the 50's MIM p-bass. i absolutely love that vintage, upright sound amnd i figure that if i stick some flatwounds on this already vintage bass, i can achieve that sound. the question is, what color. if i got fiesta red i would put a mint green PG on for a classic look. if i got black i would put a red tort PG on. suggestions???
black w/black pick guard then ship it to me..... but seriously, you are the one who has to live with it so go with what you like best!
IMO, whichever color you get would look best with the gold anodized p/g that comes standard on it. It just seems to blend perfectly with the maple board. I think all three colors look sharp with the gold p/g; but if I had to rate them by my preference, they would go, (1) Black; (2) Honey Blonde; and (3) Fiesta Red. But all three look great. I'd wait awhile before you change the p/g though. Hard to improve on that classic look...
i think ill go for the black with a tort. or red tort. PG. i already have a red sqiure jazz. and IMO i dont rele like the gold PGs. they look cheap and tacky to me.
