Hey fellas, I have an old SWR redhead the 240w model and I'm getting a weird high pitch squeak from the speakers when I slap a low note. It gets worse as the gig goes on and the amp gets warmer. I want to take it to the shop but I don't have the funds to have some repair guy log hours trouble shooting and throwing parts at it. It doesn't make the squeak on the bottom 2x10 extension speaker just the ones attached to the combo unit. Any ideas? Don

I'm not 100% sure but it sounds like it could be fried voice coils. I had a similar problem with mine with the speakers warbling...Had to wait three months for SWR to send a re-cone kit.
