Up for consideration is my Sterling 34HH in Daphne Blue with Roasted Maple neck and fretboard. It is well loved and extremely well cared for. Comes from a smoke and pet free home. I believe I am only the second owner of this instrument. It is in near mint condition, but because of the small sanding spot visible on the back of the headstock where the previous owner replaced the tuners, I'll rate it as excellent. No dings, no scratches. Hipshot tuners installed, OEM tuners included. Brand new D'Addario 45/105 nickel rounds. Will ship in OEM gig bag. This bass plays and sounds amazing for the price point. I love it and am only selling because I just scored my dream 4HH Stingray Special. Wife says something has to go. Asking for $700 with buyer paying actual UPS shipping. Reasonable offers entertained. NOW $600
Asking for venmo here is likely to get you in a bit of trouble. Pretty much only Paypal G&S 'round these parts. GLWS
PayPal Goods and Services provides the buyer a layer of protection against fraud. This has always been the TB policy, though lately there has been a rash of fraudulent classified ads so its having even more attention paid to it.
Totally understand. And I'd have no issue accepting payment via PP G&S, with the buyer absorbing the costs that would come out on my end. I'm also a small business owner (not guitar related) so I could also accept CC with a 3.5% CC fee. Visa provides buyer protection as well
That isn't allowed either. Here's an excerpt from the classified section rules: No surcharges on an item are allowed, this includes the 3% for Paypal. That fee is the seller's responsibility, not the buyer. Paypal's usage agreement specifically prohibits this. Do not request a payment be sent through Paypal as a personal payment or gift. This leaves the buyer with no recourse should there be a problem - Paypal does not allow for contesting gift transactions. This is also against the Paypal usage agreement, and can result in action taken against both the buyer's and the seller's accounts Now, obviously you have an acceptable number in mind, and you know the processing fees you'll incur based on payment method, so nothing stopping you from figuring that percentage into your asking price. Full classified rules are here: =-=-=-=Classifieds Rules, Usage Agreement, and FAQ=-=-=-= My understanding is a buyer can agree to whatever, assuming whatever risks are associated with that agreement. The Mods will ask sellers to revise ads that outright violate the policy, but ultimately a deal is between the two parties involved.
I guess you didn’t get my PM? I sent the following: ‘USPS Ground is $58 (no insurance/wouldn't let me enter it for the quote for some reason) UPS Ground is $72 (with insurance) I used a weight of 15lbs and package dimensions of 52x16x5 (have a box a Squier Jazz bass came in)’
