Hi Everyone, This is ShopniL from Bangladesh. I am 20 years of age and playing bass for last two years now. Initially, I started with a Barkley Bass manufactured by South Korea. It was a 4 string bass but I guess it's time to grab a better bass and get promoted and adopt a fiver bass as my interest lies greatly on tapping. I am looking for your opinion on a Austin bass- MTD Kingston Z5. Can anyone rank the instrument for me please? & how much this might cost me? As a beginner/learner, I would prefer to have a cheaper guitar of that sort which would sound smooth. I like to play progressive rock music with a psychedelic touch. Other than MTD Kingston Z5, can you recommend a nice instrument of my aforementioned preference within a price range of around $500 please? thank you very much.
I have an Austin Eclipse standard 5 string, new I think they are under $300. It plays fine it compairs to basses that cost much more, and plays better than a few better known brands. Its passive, has soapbar p'ups and is louder at same level than than my Fenders. has a "high mass" bridge, is set up well and the strings have good feel, tension. The B string is'nt floppy, intonates well, and has good sound definition. As I bought it used I dont know much about factory specs, but I gig every weekend and when I need a 5ver on drop tuned songs Ive been using it with no problems.
