Hello Bass forums! I have the decision to purchase a medium scale or a long scale. The medium scale is 34$ and the long scale is 24$. My bass' scale length is 24". The medium scale is 24" The long scale is 24"-26", so it shouldn't make a difference as to which one I buy, correct? Which would you recommend, and could I buy a long scale? Thanks for the answers!
Your question is very confusing. Are you looking to purchase a bass or purchase strings for a bass you already own?
I think I've deciphered it. He'd taking about strings. The long scale strings cost 24 dollars and the medium scale strings are 34 dollars. I'm surprised there would be such a large difference but ok let's work with that. Your scale measurements are off - 24" is about the scale of a normal guitar. A long scale bass is 34" and a medium scale is about 32". If your bass measures 34” from bridge to nut, get the long scale. I once accidentally bought medium scale strings because I didn't pay enough attention to the picture of the package and I paid too much attention to the item description that said it would fit a 34" scale bass. The silks almost reached the first fret.
