  1. Had somebody ask for my bottom dollar price and I haven't heard back so I am honoring it for anyone else who is interested... Price drop to $1,600.00 SHIPPED to the lower 48. PayPal E-Check or USPS Money order payment only!

This only a few hundred bucks more than a new Skyline! Rediculous price on a great bass!

    Come get her!!

I got this bass in a trade a little over a month ago and was intending to immediately flip it but I LOVE 4-94s! My favorite neck on any bass period and the flexibility of the pre and electronics makes it one of the most versatile basses out there in my experience. I have fought the temptation to put her up until now but I am playing my Fodera and my Stingray 5s pretty exclusively and this one is far too good to just sit home. She is a '99 in a really nice 3 Tone Sunburst and weighs about 8.2 lbs on my digital scale and has a set of Dunlop Strap locks installed. She is currently strung with Sadowsky Blue Nickels but I will include the Flats that came on her which sound absolutely wonderful! If you prefer I will reinstall the Flats and set her back up with them on her, your choice. She has some nicks and dings and slight swirling as could be expected for a bass of this age but nothing that affects tone, feel, or playability at all. She is a player and has great bones and some MOJO going on for sure. The action is fabulous to me and she plays like a dream. The sound is very smooth and the electronics give her a great Jazz, P-Bass, and Stingray like tone. She also has that hybrid Lakland tone in spades. Its like having 3 or more really great basses in one and I use all the different sounds at some point or another. She will ship in the Lakland G&G case she came in which is in decent shape but has been used and is a bit scuffed and dirty but completely functional and structurally intact. I am pretty positive that the body wood is Alder and the fingerboard is a really sweet Rosewood that feels perfect under my hand and sounds very smooth and warm all over the neck. The tone is even across the strings and up and down the neck and all the controls and the truss rod are fully functional. She really has no issues at all and is a true player. I have used her on a few gigs but for the most part she stays in the case or on the stand and I use her here at home for practicing and learning new material. This one is definitely a GREAT example of the work that was coming out of Carl's shop at the time she was made.

I cannot take trades on this one and I am going to price her at $1600.00 SHIPPED to the lower 48 for a quick sale. Payment should be in the form of PayPal E-Check which will only cost me $5 and still gives all the buyer and seller protection that is offered by PayPal. I would be happy to answer any questions if you have them either here or in PM. Thanks for looking!

    Peace,

    T

Sorry I should have wiped her down from handling before taking that pic! She is clean and shiny when wiped off...The 2 spots on the left facing side are just reflections...

    [IMG][/IMG]

Wiped her down before I took the this one...Notice the shine!

LOVE THE ROSEWOOD ON THIS ONE!

I wish I had a better camera other than my iPhone and better lighting. The bass looks lighter to me in person than it looks here. Great bass and awesome neck no matter what!

  7. Weighed this today and she is right at 8.2 lbs on my digital scale. Feels even lighter and she is very resonant despite the light weight. I have gotten a few trade offers but I simply can't take trades guys...sorry but I need the space and I doubt I would get anything I love more than my main bass. My price is very reasonable considering that this is from an era when Carl pretty much did everything on this bass. A new one will set you back more than twice what I am asking. Please no more low ball offers...this is a real gem and I would rather keep her than give her away! I actually got a $1400.00 offer for her yesterday which is only slightly more than the cost of a new SKYLINE...This is a US bass built by Carl himself! Come on guys somebody out there give her a good home...Thanks for looking and God Bless!

For what it's worth folks. . I have a 1999 4-94 that is the best playing bass I've ever had. the neck is like nothing else out there. Not my NYC Sadowsky, US Custom shop Jazz, nothing comes close.

This is a good deal for a killer bass.~!

  11. Thank you sir! I agree wholeheartedly! For what it's worth I actually prefer the Lakland 4-94 neck over ANY other I have ever played. I am considering getting a Fodera Yin Yang Deluxe and them make me a neck that feels just like this!! Says a lot...I use this bass to learn new stuff and for rehearsals and love it everytime I pick it up!!

  12. I did an 8.5 hour rehearsal today and used this bass exclusively. Everyone loved her tone!! She is so light and resonant and is such a pleasurable instrument to play. The 4-94 is without a question the most versatile bass out there...period! All the tones I needed in one bass and it sat perfectly in the mix. This one will not disappoint. Don't miss out if you are in the market for a US Lakland!! She is simply fabulous...

    string spacing pls

  16. The neck width is 1.6" which is perfect. The string spacing at the bridge is 19.8120 mm. The string spacing on the neck is 19 mm as far as I know. It is one of the most comfortable and effortless necks out there. They are by far my favorite neck of anything I have ever played!! Hope that helps... Thanks!

  17. Got a couple of trade offers and I appreciate them but at this moment cash is king...I simply don't have the space or the need for trades. Thanks for your interest!
