Remove an ebonol fret board

  1. I want to replace an ebonol fret with a rosewood board. How do I remove the ebonol board? Tedward

    I have to ask, "Why?".

Try heat. Most modern adhesives fail at about 140*F.
  4. Denny, it's fret less and I want to fret it. I have a feeling that the ebonol will chip when I press the frets in and I want a rosewood board to go with the bass. Tedward

Sell the neck and buy a fretted neck, unless you're experienced in fret dressing it's going to be pretty difficult.
