removing the headstock logo

Discussion in 'Luthier's Corner' started by king_xanadu, Sep 29, 2008.

  1. i have a Squier vmj
before i go any further i do not wanna remove the logo just because its a Squier
    i want a clean look
and i may put my own logo there
i heard using a hairdryer would work
has any one done this before?:help:

  2. soak the bass in boiled vinegar & salt mixture for about 6 hours...

then use a paint scraper, starting at the bridge and working your way up the fretboard until you reach the headstock

finally, apply an oxy-acetylene torch to the pickguard...

the other alternative is to leave it alone...the Squier logo is cool

    Sweet home...
just sand it off with 220. the logo is only under 1 or 2 layers of clear. then take off the tuners and tape off the fretboard and spray with poly in a can.

  4. ummm...don't you mean to take the tuners off first?
