Removing the Neck

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by anotherbassist, Jul 18, 2004.

  1. Will it damage/warp the neck if I take it off for about a week or two?

No, it shouldn't. Unless your truss rod is tweaked quite a bit. I reccoment loosening the strings, then loosening the truss rod, then removing the neck.
  3. It shouldn't damage your neck if it is still straight and not curved when removed.
As said before, you should loosen the trussrod and anything's "should" be ok

These necks don't seem to have any trouble. Some of them have been there for a couple of years. They all have trussrods in them and they stay just fine on the shelf until they are assembled.
  5. Ok I was just making sure cause I live in Texas
