I've had a few Steinie's; they are a standard sized soapbar I believe, although the originals may have some unusual construction, so if you are trying to ducplicate the exact sound, you will want some Steinberger EMG pickups.

You could probably get a broken one or parts on E-Bay, or from Peekamuse Music in NY (big Steinberger dealer). You can find LOTS of info at:

The Steinbergers use the EMG HB which is the same size as a Gibson guitar humbucker. There are almost no other pickups that will fit. DiMarzio used to offer one, not sure about Bartolini.

FOIRGET ABOUT EMG HZ!!!!!! By comparison to the real EMG HB they are crap.

Why do you need to swap out pickups for the same type anyway?

Bartolini makes pups in the same sizes as EMG, and I believe Basslines does to.

For some reason, EMG soapbars have become standard sizes!
