repair advice Modulus Q5

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by robert betty, Jun 8, 2005.

  1. I own a Modulus Q5 custom, with Arrow pickups, aguilar preamp, it is setup like a jazz bass. Volume knob for each pickup, bass boost, treble boost. Recently my bass developed some kind of ground buzz. The buzz disapears when I touch any hardware, but not the strings. The buzz gets louder when I touch the rear pickup. It will buzz at home, at lessons, and at church, but it does not buzz at the dealer repair shop. Go figure. Has anyone had this problem with theirs or can anyone give me advise on how to get fixed when I can't demonstrate the problem at the repair shop.
  2. For what its worth...with a proper ground, my Q5 would buzz when the pickups were faced to the speaker. Turn away and the buzz went away...so I wrapped the foam (that the battery is in) with electrical tape. Since I did this, I do not notice a buzz unless I have a bad ground.
