:help:i have a '76 fender jazz i purchased used 30 years ago. I have spent some $$$ trying to get the right pickups and also had to restore the wood and finish after it was messed up during a hurricane. Now the neck does not adjust anymore and needs replacement. Considering the modern cool basses out there for a couple of hundred $$$, should I repair it? Would it play and sound good? Is it worth to spend more $$$ on it?

    Thanks for your comments

  2. Hi.

My vote goes for the repair.

"Now the neck does not adjust anymore",

#1 It's totally unresponsive as in a detached TR anchor end or snapped TR?
#2 The TR nut is stripped?
#3 The TR threads are bottoming out?

Only the #1 requires a swap when a general BO instrument is concerned, the other two are easily and cheaply remedied.
