Hey all. I'm working on the Carnival cruise ship "ELATION" We had a cello player show up today, and during the flight, the neck broke off. Does anybody know of a string instrument repair shop in the Galveston area. We are close enough to make it to Houston. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I'm sorry I didn't do a thread search, but internet service out here is 10 cents a minute. Thanks again

  2. If you can make it to Houston, try contacting Philip Gold (master luthier) at:

    Gold Violin Shop Inc
    11514 Burdine St
    Houston, TX
    (713) 729-2231

Be sure to call ahead for an appointment.

Bob's not joking. You normally won't get through the locked door to Philip's Shop without making an appointment.

If Philip can't meet your deadline, try Peter Shaw with Amati Violins (713-666-6461). He's next door to Rice University.
