I have a great playing USA Fender active deluxe Jazz with N3 pups. plays great sounds not so great.

I'm missing the punch and warmth of my passive VVT Jazz.

I'm not interested in top end sparkle or any of that, just good old warm, middy punch and clear fundamental note.

After much research on the net I've decided to get a set of SD Hot Jazz pups . Has anyone here tried these in place of the N3's?

I need a pup that will just drop in in place of the N3's.

    Thanks, Bob

While I haven't tried the N3s, the Hot Jazz certainly has 'warmth and punch'.
