Dear experts, I unwittingly bought a Pbass from ebay with a truss rod that is maxed out. I tried taking off strings and gently clamping the neck in the opposite direction and leaving it. As soon as I put strings back the neck bows. I want to replace the truss rod myself and have nothing to loose by taking the risk. I dont care about appearances after the repair. I actually like the sound of this bass and want to fix this up the least expensive way I can. How do I get the truss rod out? Does the fingerboard need to come off or can I cut away a portion to access the truss rod end? I consider myself fairly handy when it comes to fixing the house, but this is new territory for me. Thanks in advance.
