I have an Ibanez sr405 and I wanted to replace the eq that originally came with it. I dont know where to turn. Can some one give me some advice? It is active with and 3 band.

you could ask a repare person at your local guitar shop? look into what would be a good eq for you and go from there. a lot of people seem to like the aguilar OBD-3 preamp (spelling) or bartolini you could ask the repare person what would work well in their experience?

sams...what don't you like about the existing preamp?

What kind of sound are you looking for?

What features do you want(active/passive switch, sweepable mids, slap switch, etc)?

    What is your budget?

I have not gone to a local store yet but I am planning on it. My existing preamp is ok but it seems like it is not doing the trick anymore. I want a smooth mid sound, rich lows, and sharp hi's. I am not looking for any extra features, just something basic.
