Replacement for Bartolini MK-1 Pickups

    As long as I can get passive tone, I'm cool with whatever. I just feel like active anything imparts a certain coloration on the tone, albeit good or bad. I'd really like for my bass to be a clean slate for me to color with my amp and pedals. Plus, the whole battery thing just worries me constantly.. Passive pickups are a must, and the barts you suggested sound like what I'm looking for. Versatility is key. As I don't have the money to have several basses for different sounds.
