Replacement for fretless P; Dimarzio DP 122 or 127 ?

    I've added a Tobias J next to the bridge.

    Although I'm happy the the sound, I find the Squier stock P pickup too noisy.
    Would there be a way to make it less noisy or I'd have to replace it?

    I haven't tried the DiMarzios. If you get their catalog, there is a tone chart in the back that will tell you comparatively how much bass, mid, and treble you get from the pickups. I've tried Seymour Duncans, which I like.

    As far as making the stock pickup less noisy, you could have it rewound or wax-pot it, depending on what kind of noise you are talking about. Rewinding will cost you as much as buying a new pickup, wax-potting you could maybe do yourself.
