    Anyone done this?

Looking for a direct replacement; would like to not to have to drill any new holes.

It looks like the Hipshot HB3 are very close in dimensions, but would like to get confirmation from someone who may have done this.

Gotoh gb640. Res-o-lite. Direct replacement parts.

I been use on my previous CV50P , lighter than stock tuner , reduce all tuning machine weight around 300 grams.

I believe weight reduce more notable from roadworn bass heavy vintage turning machine .

    Hope help

Just a heads up. I ordered a set of HB3’s for my road worn jazz. Didn’t fit. Not even close. The string posts were way to small. That was my experience.

Looking at the Hipshot cut sheet for the HB3 it says the post dia. is 0.551", I measured the Road Worn tuner post to be 0.56"....very close to being the same; are you sure you tried the HB3?

100% sure. Maybe the holes were cut a little too big on my bass. Hopefully, the HB3's will work out for you.

Got the HB3's, fit perfectly....but holding them in my hand (not very accurate) they feels like the same weight....:/

Don't want to spend the money and not get weight savings!!....ugh.

He's 100% correct! They will knock off almost 5 oz off of your bass and head stock. That's a lot! Your bass will balance better too.
