The neck PU in my 2000 MIM active jazz V is dead and I need a cheap replacement. HAs anyone tried the Carvin H50N stacked humbuckers? They're only $50 and the only ones I've found to buy online so far that work for 5 strings. Any ideas? It has to be less than $70 and should be for sale online, I don't feel like having the store order one. Thanks.
  2. I have heard good things about very good things the Bill Lawrence pickups. He designed the pickups used in the Fender Roscoe Beck 5 string. Anyway, I'm not sure that they are the right size, but you might want to check out his J45's. The price is right at $48 and I'm sure if you called him on the phone he could tell you. http://www.billlawrence.com/Pages/Pickup_Window/Introduction.htm

Did you find some pups that fit? If so...what did you get? Did you go with the Carvins?
