    Hi,
I bought this bass amp, but accidentally the poweramp got burned. I've opened the bass amp and found the 125asx2 poweramp inside, which got burned (as I already said :))
I wanted to know if it can be replaced and where I can buy a replacement part for this.
    Many thanx.

  2. Have you tried to search the web for that part number? If it’s a proprietary Fender part then you’ll have to get a replacement from them. If it’s not then there should be lots of electronics websites who sell it.

Hey thanks for your response. I did search the web for the part number and found it. But I doubted about the specs, because it says 2x125W. Does this mean I get 250Watt instead of the 350?

The part is available through the Fender service network, BUT, there is the possibility of other damage to your amp depending on the cause of the failure. That's what an authorized service center will (or should) check for to prevent damaging a replacement part.

Did you miss the part where it also says 1 X 500? And no, that doesn't mean you'll automagically get 500 watts when your Fender authorized repair provider fixes the amp for you. [IMG]

That amp (at least the version I've seen the schematic for) uses the auxiliary power supply on the ICE board to run the preamp circuits, so you must be absolutely sure everything is kosher on that side before replacing the power amp module. IOW, it's not necessarily really a drop-in replacement.

Thanks for the response, but as I live in Suriname, there ain't no authorized Fender service center available in my country. So to get it repaired I should sent it back to the US, which would be very expensive.

    Hi Passinthewind,
Thanx for the reply. I've already checked the other parts in the amp and so far everything worked perfectly. Now I know that it depends on the way how you connect the poweramp you'll get the power out of the bass amp. Many many thanx for the info!!

    Hi sha26,

Does fender share their schematics with their customers? My RH450 died and it has to be sent away but it would cost so much so I just have it checked locally. I happen to be in the neighboring island. Sorry if this is out of the context but I'm just trying to find out if fender is a brand worth looking into.

    Thanks

    Hi Agrassab,
You can find some schematics of fender's products on the web. I didn't use their schematic, I just opened my bass amp to check which part of the circuit was damaged. Maybe you could do the same or you can write to Fender technical support to see if they can help you :)

How did you do that without using the schematic? Please be really careful, the SMPS in that amp is nothing to mess around near unless you are a very experienced tech with all the right tools and service literature.

Oh hahaha sorry, I meant that I haven't use the schematic yet to find the damaged part. To connect the poweramp I definitely need the schematic for the connecting pins hahaha ;) and I've already found one on the web

Hahaha I know a little bit of electronics due to my study in electrical engineering ;)
That's difficult they don't share their schematics. Have you tried to sent them an email?

That is even more than a technician.:D

I have sent them an email and I was advised to contact their authorized service center in the US.

They probably wanna keep it secret.

If I may ask, where do you get parts for your rumble?

    Out there!
Does the Ice module get modified for various vendors or do the amp designers work around/with the B&O specs as to powering preamps and such?

OP how did the amp burn up?

Wow, a Fender Rumble thread where our resident Rumble shill has not shown up in, hmm............ o_O :D

The schematic just shows the 125ASX2 as a block diagram. ICE don't give out schematics for their power amps AFAIK. They normally don't sell modules to anyone but OEMs either, you must be well connected! [IMG]

As passinwind had said, you must be well connected. Probably, a matter of resourcefulness.
