replacement pickup advice

    I have a Ibanez sr405 (first bass) and I wanted to replace the pickups that originally came with the bass. I am looking for a an even smooth frequency response. Not too sure about the single coil sound or what that means. I have heard alot about the Barts and the Seymour Duncans. Advice anyone?

    Both are good brands. If you want smooth, I would vote Bartolini. Single coil or humbucker?
    Head down to your local GC and play both types and then decide what you like best.
