Replacement Pickups for a Warwick Streamer Standard

I am considering buying a Warwick Streamer Standard, but I've heard the MEC passive soapbars are terrible and that they cannot be serviced in my area without it costing a lot. Does any company make replacements that might fit this bass? I've never seen one in person, but from the picture, the soapbars look to be a different shape than traditional ones. Anybody know what replacement pickups might work, or can comment on the general tone of these stock pickups? Thanks!
