Replacement pickups for Jazz(mex) Bass. (Newbie Question)

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by TrimShady, Apr 9, 2003.

  1. I have a Fender Jazz 2002 that I am looking to add on to. (I.E.) new pickups and possibly a Badass II Bridge.

I bought this bass to learn, now I feel like I need to upgrade. So if you are reading this.........

Bassline pickups in place of standard J's. Better than standard or what? Tell me why or why not.

Carvin stacked humbuckers? I've read good reviews in different magazines, are they what they claim to be?

If you have any other suggestions. feel free to share
  2. get seymour duncan antiquities, they are aged pickups and give a awesome vintage tone, about 95.00 each though..i have a 75 reissue jazz i put them in and they sound amazing !! also getting a set for my p-bass, basslines would be my second choice if money was an issue...

Basslines would definitley be good if money was a constraint. They give a good sound, and they do not cost too much. These generally will sound better than the stock pickups on a MIM, though it is much more of a close call with MIA.
