replacement speakers

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by bottomfeedins, May 21, 2004.

  1. My Fender Bassman 100 blew out its speaker. I mainly use it for practice, or for acoustic sessions. should I get another 15" Fender replacement, or are there good generics out there? Has anyone had any experiences/opinions with replacement speakers?

  2. Over the last 5 years, I have bought several used JBL loaded cabinets from Music-Go-Round for $100 - $150. You can find Eminence speakers all over for that kind of money or less.

  3. Any 15" speaker will work but will it work well? I'd try to get an exact replacement. That way you can be sure it will sound at least as good as it did.

  4. I would personally replace the speaker with the exact model that blew as long as you were happy with the tone of it. If not, I have used both various models of Celestion and Eminence speakers with very few problems.
