I need to replace a speaker in my combo. Will everything work ok
if I don't use a sub intended for that. (Like one for a car system)
I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't but I'm not too sure and I
was just looking for some other input.
  2. You need to use a speaker made for musical instruments. Don't go with the car audio type. It won't be real good. You can get a speaker pretty cheap made for musical instruments.

    check here:

look at the guitar legends, 15 and 10 for bass

You can talk to Ted, and he'll set you up. He may even tell you to recone the original.

Of course you need to get the original factory type if you want it to be optimum for your cabinet.
