Replacement Teisco nut?

Does anybody know where I can find a replacement nut for a 65' Teisco Del Rey? Mine broke, and I gave it to this guy at a bass store who I thought would be able to find a replacement, but he ended up losing the thing in the "bass graveyard" in the back of the store. Maybe there are some other bass makers that have the nut sized the same or almost the same but I haven't had much time to look around.

 

As far as string spacing goes, I can't recall, and I'm not sure how I can figure out besides physically trying it out, but I still have a lot of work that has to be done on the bass before I get there... The nut was 1 9/16" wide and about 3/8" high. As an alternative, I was considering a thin piece of 1/4" plexiglass....it's worth a shot, eh?
