I want to buy an Epi T-bird, Will fender-style replcement tuners fit on it? It comes with those wimpy little schaller ones.
  2. Without major modifications? Probably not. Even the Gibson T-bird has those smaller machines. If I'm not mistaken, the Fender type require a larger post hole through the headstock. I think I've heard that the T-bird style bass is neck-heavy to begin with. Adding those larger, heavier machines would probably make the problem worse. I, for one, would not buy a new bass and make major mods to it. Maybe a used one?
