Are there any electronics or anything under the pickguard on a Jazz bass?

  2. Pickguards on Jazzes can usually be easily replaced. The electronics are under the control plate, and nothing it attached to the guard.

  3. what kind of jazz bass?
on the mim fender jazzes, you have a hole routed around the neck pickup, and a routed area for the wires to go to the pots. otherwise, american fender jazzes, and just about every other jazz bass (even my old essex) don't have that, so it would look pretty cool!

my MIA jazz dlx has the big route for the neck pickup, so i couldn't just remove it and have it look cool. But I could get a new body made to do that I suppose....

Or use duct tape to cover up the holes :-\

OK. Awesome. Looks like it will be easy to replace the pickguard. I think I'm getting a green one from warmoth.com.

Oh by the way its MIM.
