Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by digidealaybb404, Jan 9, 2006.

  1. i have some questions on replacing the tube in my peavey. it have one 12ax7 in the preamp section and my question is what is a good replcemtn tube for my peavy pro500.

    is this a good one?http://www.tubedepot.com/so-12ax7wa.html

and is it easy to prelace tubes or a big pain in the ass.

You can probably find better. It won't change tone very much, but if you're going to put a new tube in, you might as well drop $15-20 and get a nice one. Each amp responds to tubes differently.

Replacing tubes depends on where the tube is in your head. The socket on yours is probably mounted to a board, so be careful in your wiggling when getting it out.
