I think there should be someone out there who has played Yamaha strings, the same ones that their basses come equipped with(yes, this has something to do with me having new Yamaha :) ). How would you describe em sound-wise?

I would with my short experience say they are somewhat light sounding and bit tinny.

This all is ofcourse to understand strings better and find out what should I look for in my next set of strings. I think going for fatter sounding strings would be my thing, so perhaps a set of DR Fat or Sun Beams?

If it helps, I play or atleast try to play fingerstyle and slap in categories of funk, rock, r'n'b and blues - and I just love how flatwound D'Addario Chromes sound on my fretless.
