REQ-Gladys Knight and the Pips - Heard it Thru the Grapevine

Discussion in 'Tablature and Notation [BG]' started by snoopyjc, Jul 29, 2002.

  1. Does anybody have (or know where I can get) a notation or tab (preferred) transcription of the Gladys Knight and the Pips version of Heard It Thru the Grapevine?

I'm not interested in the Marvin Gaye or any other versions.

    Thanks!

There is one in "standing in the shadows of motown." Every bassist should own it. They have a part about jamerson's life. One part about his music. And one part with transcriptions w/ CDs of Jamerson's tracks played by bassists like mccartney, rocco, patitucci, anthony jackson, bob babbitt, marcus miller, jack bruce, geddy lee, willie weeks, will lee, chuck rainey, gerald veasley, entiwhistle, and others.

  3. Be warned, though, it's a transcription not tablature.

Will Lee's version of that bassline on Standing in the Shadows is kicking!

Tough bassline to get the groove and feel just right, not to mention all of the ghost notes.

    JJamerson rules!
