Does anybody notice any patterns or a different construction of basslines in reto-alternative music?

Retro-Alternative is music like the Hive, Strokes, *White Stripes* and Weezer.

Personally, I don't see anything really different or groundbreaking about the bass playing in any of the bands, but maybe I'm missing something.

They have a really fresh, innovative way of playing eighth root notes.
