well, i bought it, i sold it , and i got it back..
seems to be the theme with me these days. First, i got an old Fender Am Dlx 5 back last week, I love it.. doctored it up and it kicks butt.

Now, i "borrowed" a Sadowsky Tokyo I had and sold to a good friend here in Vegas - he is now a full time Lakland guy and I was always enamored with the look of this Sadowsky ( the pickguard was my idea and the bass is just so fine looking, to me )
i have to admit, it wasn't too comfy when i brought it home, but I sat with the allen wrench and the screwdriver and lowered the bridge saddles, and raised the pickups, new strings , and now this thing is monstrous.
The singlecoils and the full size body really gives this bass the closest I have come to " the Marcus sound "
it is big and not as easy to get around as the smaller Fender of my F bass, but that's part of the beauty... it keeps me real.. shut up and groove!
anyways.. i am on a Jazz kick these days, and loving it.. now I have to sell something to pay for this thing, but my buddy is giving me "terms"- How can i refuse??

VERY cool! I have yet to be impressed with the Metro UV's I've played (they sound good, but not that different to my ear from the lighter, smaller 'standard' models), but a number of TBers state that with a change of strings (to DR's, for example) and single coil pickups, they sound much better. By better, I mean much more like a 70's style J that the design is meant to emulate. It looks like that's basically what you have there. Cool!

Beautiful Adrian! I think that'd be REALLY sharp with a white moto guard, to match the blocks.

  13. great looking bass. I did the darker pickguard, instead of the white MOP.

I hope it brings you much satisfaction.

The bridge is different too, but they are close cousins (my UV has the single coils).

ha, congrats Adrian on getting it back!
It's 230am here on Guam and I just got home from a top40 gig and played my identical bass all night.
It has no problem dialing in the funk, that's for sure.

So did I. I just asked Adrian about it about two weeks ago. How's that for friendship? ;)

You tell a guy you want to track down his old bass from his buddy and what does he do? Goes back and buy's it himself! :rollno: :bag:

    Why I aughta!
