Return to Fender...

Discussion in 'Recordings [BG]' started by twodinners, Oct 25, 2006.

  1. Hi to all,

I've managed to prise open the catches on my bass cases after a twelve year hiatus.

Would love to have some criticism on these efforts...

    Thanks,

I think it's great when someone comes out of a 12 year retirement and kicks my play-every-day fanny.

    welcome home.

    I thought it was great.

Congrats on finding your way back.

Life's too short to keep the case closed.

We all come back, it's in the blood.

  5. Ok, Ok... Step AWAY from the Fender...

Very, VERY nice! Why the hiatus?

  6. tZer,

I was dropped home after a European tour with a major eighties UK pop icon on a Tuesday, my daughter was born the following Friday and I was behind a desk, suited the next Monday... programming mainframes as was.

Lesson is, if you get a break (in music), then that's the time to hustle, capitalise. (which I didn't do).

All of which is not the whole truth, that would take longer.

Thanks for your reply and appreciation, very droll, you'll be glad to hear, I'm sure, that it continues to raise a significant smile.

    Best regards,

    Kevin

I have listened to the clips several times now, and I really enjoy them. It's great, tasty, yet approachable playing.

I aspire to play just like that.

Two dinners, I'm curious- who were you playing with during the 80's?

Very nice! I doubt I’d be as proficient even with another 12 years of practice. Sorry no criticisms; just useless (but sincere) compliments.

  10. dirtgroove,

    Thanks for your curiosity!

It was the early nineties and I did a couple of tours with UK singer Paul Young, being first replacement for Pino Palladino who was getting very busy in the session world.

Paul was a fantastic guy to work for and they were very happy times.

It could have been worse, could have been Weather Report.

    Outstanding.

And not surprising considering the great work we hear on the myspace clips.

I'm glad for you that you picked it up again. I hope you get lots of joy out of it this part of your life.

  13. Frank,

Thanks for that, in fact thanks to everyone for the encouragement, it feels like I've got a bunch of bass players helping to push start my car.

Saying that, getting the work is proving the hard thing.

Sorry for the bump, but I do have a couple of new/old clips on myspace, would love comments.

    Thanks,
