I left feedback today for a pedal I bought on Reverb. I know this pedal is meant to come with a "manual" (ok, an instruction/spec sheet), warranty card and a power adapter. I don't care about the warranty card because it's been modded (by JHS), so that's void. The sheet is easy enough to print out. But with the mod, this pedal cannot use batteries, so I was hoping for the power adapter. Yeah, I have a 1 Spot, but that's not the point. I might want to sell it at some point. So I gave him 4 stars: He wrote to me: I'm not gonna paste the entire original ad here, but here's what he's referring to: AFAIK, you can't change feedback after it's been submitted. Should I feel bad? Should I write him back? Should I ask Reverb if I can change my rating? WWTBD???
Yeah, less stars for what you think should come with an item is not cool. Sure, write Reverb, see what they say. Write him too!
Unless otherwise specified (aka explicitly written or photographed), I would always assume to only get what I see or what is in the description. There's no power supply in it, and I assume it's not in the photos either. So I think your expectations were a bit too high on this one. I would ask for a change of rating, I would be surprised if they won't. But you never know.
The rating system is so skewed all right. I personally feel like five stars is a reward and reserved for above and beyond service. Giving someone four stars out of 5 for simply shipping an item seems extremely reasonable to me. A 5-star rating might have been something like, " even though it didn't have the original manual seller took the time to print one out and put it in the box for me."
What more could the seller have done in this case? They did exactly what they were supposed to do. I think your standards might be too high if you think doing a job exactly as advertised isn't worth 5/5.
