  2. I haven't played the P/J model, but I love my J/J model! Enjoy the bass!

Edit: I just noticed the price, and with a Reverend hardcase that is one GREAT deal!

Im a fan of ugly basses, but that one scares me.

  4. I wear my bass up pretty high and it looks like it would be uncomfortable to do so!

  5.

  6. I purcahsed a Reverend P/J recently. It is light, comfortable bass. It sounds great also. I would of kept it too - it just wasn't exactly what i was looking for and money being a little tight. I've played alot of basses recently in my latest 'quest'. I wish I would have tried a set of flats on the Reverend before returning it.
The Rumblefish PJ is a great bass - wish I'd kept mine :(

  7. Nice picture Brian but only one problem, well maybe two....... you have no mamory glands...........Breasts are a factor for me.

  8. Okay, but how would the Rev really be different from any other bass? Seriously, what part of it looks uncomfortable for you? BTW, I didn't mean any offense. You're certainly welcome to your opinion.:)

  9. Treena,

They're a factor for me too!

But not realted to bass playing ;)

    (sorry) :)

  10. Congrats, Dave! When I first saw that orange bass on the BassNW site, I went  . That thing is bad-ass! I've been playing a Rumblefish for five years and a P-J will definitely be my next bass. Let us know how you like that bass when you get it.

    Reverends are awesome.
Joe Naylor, who makes them, is pretty cool, too.

  13. As a JJ Rumblefish player, I have been curious to hear some feedback about the PJ version. I don't necessarily trust Harmony-Central reviews (it seems like everything reviewed is always the best thing ever). I am leery of PJ basses in general because it seems like the J pickup always adds a ton 60 cycle hum as well as brightness when you turn it on.

  14. I agree with both statements. One time I needed a replacement "washer" for my E-string tuner, so I called Joe, and the new washer arrived the next day.:)

I can't imagine it getting much better than the dual J setup in the 5L, but I'm willing to listen. That orange color is wicked, too!

Try a Brad Houser. They are great, too.

  17. TREENA'S A NUDIST, TREENA'S A NUDIST!!! :D

Back on topic: Dave, that Fish looks like it's in excellent shape, and I like that color too. I've never played one, but heard a lot of good things about them. Give us a review after you get it.

    Good luck.

EDIT: i played on of the JJ's at a local store, and although the store is generally bad, i was surprised to find that when i picked it off of the wall, a knob fell right off. i put the knob back on and put the bass back up there where it belongs. anybody ever have this problem with reverends, cheap hardware?

  19. Actually, I have had a problem with the the bridge pickup volume knob falling off my Reverend. I keep a jeweler's screwdriver in my gig bag just in case.

  20. Same thing happens with one of my Yamas, Dave. Dunno, if it's cheap hardware or just too lazy to get off my *ss and buy some loctite. :D
