    That's bad-a**!

    P/J's don't flip too often.

Thanks for the bumps! This bass almost converted me to a 4 string player.

    I wish you did also...although it could be a p/j 5 like chef's retro '51 warmoth :bassist:

    Ah!
Knew it wouldn't last long...who's the lucky duck gettin' it?

If you still had your avatar bass, that'd be one bass I might just trade that 51 for....

    ...or not;)

Looks like peabody is gonna pull the trigger.

    Chef,
I'd have traded that to you for that if I had known :meh: althought I think I made out okay with my Valenti + cash.

I've been eyeing these for years and just never had the courage to buy one. I'll just add it to my list of impulse purchases. They are definitely unique, cool looking basses though and I can't wait to get it.

  13. Be careful, they're addictive. I recommend a Rumblefish XL next.

The P pickup is huuuuge sounding.
Jack the P pup up as high as it'll go, short of the strings hitting it when you dig it (if it ain't already like that).

The neck is to die for.

I use DA XL170 nickel rounds; stock were SIT powerwound nickels.

+1 on the P-Pup & Neck! I use the Jazz pup to add a touch of brightness if needed.

I've got TI Jazz Rounds on the Orange Roughy. They sound Pretty Good. I might try the TI Jazz Flats, just to see what happens...

I still haven't snuck my P/J in the house. An Orange Bass will stand out like a Red, well, You Know!:D

Thanks for all of the advice. What sold me on the bass were the reviews I read on the neck (plus it's cool looking). I like the thinner, jazz-type neck, and this sounds like it fits the bill perfectly. My string of choice lately has been the D'Addario Chrome Flats, so that will probably be my first order of business....after I figure out how to sneak it into the house. Whenever I walk in with a new bass, my wife just shakes her head.

First order of business is to plug it in because it's currently wearing chromes :D

    Can't beat that for service....

My favorite line when my wife sees a new bass and says, "Now when did you get that?" is "Oh, I've had this for years." That line works for most Jazzes and P's but something tells me it won't work on the Fish.
