    OK guys.

I know that my last thread died on the vine that asked if there are any websites that objectively review the quality of different power tools.

Do any of you know where I can get objective views on power tools such as band saws, table saws, routers and sanders (hand random orbital and stationary)?

I've looked at consumer reports, but they didn't have what I was looking for.

  2. You might want to try the archives of "Fine Woodworking" magazine. Every issue has reviews of similiar tools for comparison.

FWW also publishes a Tool Review "book" usually available at newsstands. I actually got mine at an airport. It's a compilation of reviews from the recent past, with some good direct comparisons.

They also have some selected reviews on their website:

    Some other sites I've marked:

Thanks guys! Instead of saving money for another bass, I've been saving for tools. Then I can build my own basses!

I'll check out those sites and the printed literature when I have a chunk of free time.
