Rewiring MM Hummer to series

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by dirtrider, Oct 5, 2004.

  1. I verified that the hummer in my SUB is wired in parallel. Has anyone rewired one to series? I'm finding the bass a bit too trebly and tinny and I was wondering if wiring in series will help give me some bottom and grunt that I'm looking for. This is a cheaper alternative to replacing the p'up itself.

    Any input?

    TIA

does the stock pup have four wires? It might be hardwired in parallel, and only have two wires.

I know someone asked about this a while ago, might be worth a search to see if you find anything.

  3. It has 3 wires. Is that weird?

  4. The third wire is a ground wire. It is hard wired in parallel, and cannot be rewired in series without serious modification.
