  1. Which active pickups would you recomend to fix this. I have a Carvin LB75. I like a clean warm tone for counrty rock. I'm using a Ampeg ProIV with 2X10 rig. Thanks:confused:

RF noise? Are you, like, picking up CBC or 20M amateur on your bass? Wild!

Changing the PUs may not help. The usual culprit that causes RF noise is shielding. It may be that the bass is not properly shielded.

It may also be that that instrument cable you are using is not properly shielded.

I have a G&L L-2500 that has been known to pickup RF so well that it actually broadcast it through the amp. I got half of a wireless phone conversation once. Anyway, a shielding job was the solution.

You may want to try the bbs at http://www.carvin.com There are a bunch of Carvin homers there, but the mods are Carvin employees. They can usually offer pretty good insight on problems you are having with their gear.

I would make sure that isn't your problem before you drop $150 on a new set of pickups.

Which Carvin pickups? My LB75 had the HB bridge humbucker. It has exposed pole pieces, and therefore was susceptible to RF interference (mostly from my nearby monitor). Gak.
